Main Component Characteristics of PVC Profiles

PVC profiles, full name POLYVINYLCHLORID, the main component is polyvinyl chloride, in addition to other components to enhance its heat resistance, toughness, ductility and so on. The top layer of the surface film is lacquer, the main component in the middle is polyvinyl chloride, and the bottom layer is the back coating adhesive.

It is a popular and widely used synthetic material in the world today. Its global use ranks second among synthetic materials. According to statistics, in 1995 alone, the production of PVC in Europe was about 5 million tons, while its consumption was 5.3 million tons.

In Germany, the average production and consumption of PVC is 1.4 million tons. PVC is being produced and applied worldwide at a growth rate of 4%.

In recent years, the growth rate of PVC profiles in Southeast Asia is particularly remarkable, which is attributed to the urgent need for infrastructure construction in Southeast Asian countries. The PVC profile is the most suitable material for the production of three-dimensional surface film materials.

PVC profiles are actually a kind of vinyl polymer. It is divided into soft PVC and hard PVC. Hard PVC accounts for about 2/3 of the market, while soft PVC accounts for 1/3.

Soft PVC profiles are generally used for flooring, ceiling and leather surface, but because soft PVC contains softener (which is also the difference between soft PVC and hard PVC), it is easy to become brittle and difficult to preserve, so its application scope is limited. Hard PVC does not contain softener, so it has good flexibility, easy formation, not easy to be brittle, non-toxic and pollution-free, long storage time, so it has great development and application value.

The essence of PVC profiles is a vacuum plastic absorbing film, which is used for the surface packaging of all kinds of panels. So it is also called decorative film and adhesive film. It is used in many industries, such as building materials, packaging, medicine and so on. Among them, building materials industry accounts for 60% of the total, followed by packaging industry, and a number of other small-scale applications.

PVC profiles are polyvinyl chloride plastics with bright colour, corrosion resistance and durability. Due to the addition of plasticizers, anti-aging agents and other toxic auxiliary materials in the manufacturing process, their products generally do not store food and medicines.
